Home Health Care of East Tennessee and Hospice is a proud partner in the WE HONOR VETERANS Program. The We Honor Veterans Program is a national program in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.
Approximately 25% of all deaths each year are Veterans. A vast majority of Veterans are not aware of end-of-life services and benefits available to them. Only 4 % of the Veterans who die annually are cared for in Veteran Administration facilities.
Through education and training designed specifically to meet the unique needs of the Veteran, the hospice team is able to provide “Veteran-centered” care, thus allowing the Veteran and his/her family to move toward a more peaceful ending. Veteran-centered care focuses on the needs, desires and treatment of our Veterans.
The hospice team has met specific requirements that help improve the care provided. When there are specific needs related to the Veteran’s military service, combat experience or other traumatic events, Home Health Care of East Tennessee and Hospice will find tools to help support the Veteran and his/her caregiver.
We share a common goal to provide the best possible care for Veterans in the best possible manner and setting while honoring Veteran’s preference.
We are proud to be a part of the WE HONOR VETERANS Program, by honoring and caring for those men and women who have given so very much of themselves to the service of our country.
